Big secret

No sign of the package...

At work we (still) live in interesting times - much to our surprise we found out that there was one internal candidate for the now vacant QA manager role, but it was a huge big enormous secret who that person was. Our three managers were given an opportunity to interview this person, but even they didn't find out who this person was until they walked into the interview with them this afternoon - I'm just surprised they weren't blindfolded and made to sign contracts in blood.

So we've all been racking our brains trying to figure out who the candidate is. Can't be this or that, would be a demotion, he or she wouldn't be interested, if it's him I'll so walk... and so on. So once Gino left for the super secret interview me and Don sat in front of Outlook and started taking educated guesses on who this person was, and then checking their calendars if they too had this "private meeting" in it. And after five minutes or so we come across a person who fits the bill - she (and it is a she) has the private meeting, she's at the right level in the company, and quite possibly unhappy where she's right now. Never knew that she had any interest for QA, but then again I don't really know her so I can't say either way.

We felt quite satisfied having solved this little mystery. Gino came back looking tired and dazed, and said they needed another interview with her, but that we will probably know by the end of the week if this person gets the job. Maybe I'll grill him more tomorrow morning to try to figure out what he really thinks of her.
