Cool... or what

Last night there was a point where time was for a second 01:02:03 04/05/06 (in the North American format - for Europeans it's next month). I find it pretty cool personally, it's just the kind of random stuff I get a kick out of. However what I don't understand - and this was even said by the stupid weather man-cum presenter on CTV's breakfast program - is the people saying that this is the only time ever this is going to happen. Well, no. Firstly, it's not really year 06, that was two thousand years ago - so surely next time that number comes around (using that notation) is in March 2106, and then every hundred years. It might be the only time it's happening in my lifetime, for sure, but not only time ever.

I'm waiting for 06.06.06 06:06:06 quite soon.

The re-make of The Omen gets its premier on 6.6.06. That's pretty cool.

Of course, as Kolibri points out, the Anti-Christ could also have risen once every century ;-)

If son of Lucifer skipped 6.6. 666, I would be kinda disappointed if he showed up now. Consistency, please.

The weatherman got a flood of emails correcting his mistake :D I'm not feeling sorry for him for being stupid, but they were begging for people to stop emailng in their complaints.

I spent a bunch of time thinking about this, oddly, the day of as someone from work brought it up. A few incredibly non-productive moments followed later in the day, and I found the following:

I normally track dates as yyyy.MM.dd:hh:mm:ss
So, today is 2006.04.08 (tracking folders like this makes sure they always wind up in order on a computer). But if you use that and play with format a bit, you can get some other fun times in the near future.

May 4th, 2006 gives us 6/5/4-3:21:00 which is sorta fun.

Of course, July 6, 2008 gives us the best backwards time for decades of 8/7/6-5:43:21

Neither of these is as cool as August 7th, 2009. Just after noon on that day we’ll get 12:34:56 7/8/9 time. Clearly that’s just too damn fun.

Ooh, I like that August 7th, 2009. We're such nerds.

I just remembered that the Finnish Prohibiton ended on 5th of April '32 at 10 a.m., when the state owned liqour stores opened their doors.
