That time of the year

Snow on the mountains

It's starting to be that time of the year when snow creeps in - not to the city, but above it. One morning you wake up and you see that it has been snowing on the mountains: there are spots of white and the forests are like silver with a light snow coating. And you can even tell what the temperature is outside by how the snow line is - yesterday morning (when this photo was taken) it was very cold.

They're offering free access to slopes at Grouse Mountain tomorrow the whole day (9am till 10pm). Both SkyRide and lifts are included. I was secretly cherishing a though that perhaps most people won't be aware of the offer. Then, just during my visit to a certain Seattle-based coffee chain I managed to overhear not one but two students talking about the same offer over phone. I'm keeping my hopes high, although probably half of the UBC undergrads will be there for a timely season opener...
