I love fog
One thing I love about England is the fog. We're not talking about some pretty lingering mist that you see on the fields - we're talking about all consuming thick as soup fog where you literally can't see the car in front of you.
And no, I'm not being sarcastic - I really do love this fog. I love the way all landmarks disappear and how my whole world becomes so small. It's spooky and it's cool.

There have been times where, at night out in the wilds where I live, I've only been able to get along the main road by staring intently at the curb on the same side as me because I couldn't see the other side of the road at all.

I drove in it this morning and I still love it - granted, it was actually light but even if it was dark I would still love it :) It's such a rare treat (for me) that even if it causes some inconvenince, it's still ok. One of natures wonders.

I love driving at night in the fog. I feel like I'm in The X-Files. :D
I've never been in extremely thick fog before, though.

Whereas I find driving through falling snow always makes me think of going into hyperspace in Star Wars ;)

Fog is one of the many reasons my husband would love to live in England. He loves clouds.
And the longer I live in a 'clear blue sky' place like L.A. the more I miss those puffy Finnish summer cumulus clouds... and fog!

See, Rel! It's perfectly normal to like fog!
(I also notice that the only fog-hater here is English ;)
I've never thought to associate hyperspace and snow - but now that you mentioned it, there are some similarities...

I never said I hated it, just that it's a bitch to drive in the really thick stuff. Otherwise it can be very nice indeed, literally atmospheric.
